A few weekends ago we headed up to Manchester to celebrate our friend/neighbor’s 30th birthday.
The weekend was pretty rad for five major reasons:
1) First and foremost, it was great to celebrate with the birthday boy: Ollie.
This is him in the “man throne." Ollie’s pretty great. He and his partner (as they like to call it here in England), Kate, live next door to us. We think they’re pretty awesome.
2) We went out for our first official “tea."
It was really, really good. (ps, that’s Kate in the background)
3) We made new friends. I love making new friends- especially when they’re all British (or Welsh) and have “luuuvely" accents.
A few of the guys toasting the birthday boy!
Aren’t they attractive?
4) We got to eat with reckless abandon.
Which happens to be one of my favorite past times.
5) We spent the evening in a karaoke room.
Which means that I got to hear my husband sing.
In public.
For the very first time.
It was magical.
(And by magical I mean that it was loud and the beat was pumping, so no one was really paying attention to his trembling bass-like tones)
Truly a night to remember. :)
