That’s the emotion I’ve been feeling lately. And for good reason.
Here are just a few things that made this particular Thanksgiving so special:
1. My whole immediate family was together: Mom, Dad, Rob, Linds, kiddos, G, and myself. We are so rarely all together and we weren’t sure it was going to happen this year. My dad took a military hop, which is basically flying standby, so it was pretty awesome that he made it over in time for Thanksgiving. We flew in from 2 other continents (the US and Australia) and one other country to be together. We must like each other.
2. My granny from Australia is here. Our times together are so few and far between and I love having her close. We all treasure our times with her.
3. We got to spend Thanksgiving in Belgium. That is just cool.
4. I ate my first ever fried turkey. Holy goodness.
5. We had a full house come dinner time. I LOVE having a crowd on a holiday. rob and Lindsey had invited some of their friends from here, G and I had one of G’s American coworkers over and, best of all, one of my favorite cousins came in from Germany with her family (which really is it’s own point- see number 6)
6. My second cousin, Katie, married a guy, Andy, who is from Germany. They live just west of Frankfurt and recently had their first child- an adorable little girl named Emily. Katie’s parents were in town at the time as well, so it was AWESOME having them here as well. Needless to say, we had A LOT of Beckenhauers under one roof!
7. I’ve been able to do more traveling in the last few months than I have in years. I absolutely love to travel and am so thankful for this amazing opportunity to experience Europe.
8. I’m in the land of French fries, chocolate, cheese, and waffles. hallelujah.
9. This may sound crazy, but I’m uber thankful that I have my new camera. I get to record all these fun memories and people actually look good when you push the button.
10. My husband. He can be awesome when he wants.
