In November, a week after moving into our new home, my parents and my Grandma came down to visit us for Thanksgiving. Around the same time my stomach officially “popped." Little did I know how enormous that belly would become!
My parent’s brought our dog Zeke down. He had been living with them while we were in the UK.
It was a little late in the season, but we decided to bundle ourselves up and head out for a swamp tour with a few of the locals.
We had an awesome time. And though I’m not a huge fan of living in a swampy region (mosquitoes, fire ants, and extreme humidity are not my friends), the area itself is absolutely beautiful.
Here’s one of the alligators we saw- it was massive, probably about 16 feet long.
Big boy, isn’t he?
Oh yeah, we yanked on his tail. No big deal.
Also, our guide might have been a liiiiittle crazy, because he thought nothing of reaching into the water and yanking out this fellow:
This, is a nutria. Which is pretty much a rat. a really really big rat. With orange teeth.
I pet this guy too. I’m not always sure why I do the things I do.
It was a little cold out there on the water, we were got dressed up for the occasion.
Back on land they let us hold some baby alligators that they had found.
It’s crazy how big those guys can grow.
Anyway, all in all we had a great time. It certainly made their trip here one to remember!
